Capturing the warmth of the morning light in the woods

An early summer morning portrait session to capture Lexie the Labrador Retriever in the woods. Lexie loved being in front of the camera, partly because of the abundance of treats, but also because she is such a natural performer. And I was aided by her owner Stuart, using a reflector to make the most of the natural golden morning light.
Lexie's golden colour shines beautifully and is offset by the green of the woodland. The reflector helped to fill shadows and create pools of light and I used a wide apeture lens to create a soft blurred background to bring focus to Lexie. In the edit, I was careful to preserve the colour tone and warmth of the light.
