Ipswich to Felixstowe Classic Car Rally

The 54th Ipswich to Felixstowe classic car rally was a great opportunity to photograph vehicles of all types and ages on the route. It was also a chance to test out some panning technique.

I selected a vantage point with a hedge as a background and no visual distractions. Using a slow shutter speed (1/60th second) and keeping a steady body movement, I was able to blur the background whilst keeping the majority of the vehicles in focus. In the edit I have given the subjects some room to breath within the frame, which together with the background blur suggests movement.
