Late July and the Rye crop is being harvested near where I live, which is a great opportunity to capture the Combine as it works the fields. It is one of my favourite times to be out with my camera in the summer.
I used a telephoto lens so that I could work from a safe distance and isolate the machinery from the background as much as possible. I positioning myself at a right angle to the sun so that light picks up the dust, which creates drama and a sense of motion. In the edit I enhanced the red elements of the machinery to make it stand out more in the final image.
Thanks to the local farmers for allowing me to photograph them at work.
